My mom and I have been patiently awaiting the launch of the Target + Neiman Marcus collaboration for months and Saturday was finally the day to check out the goods in person.
Check out our adventure after the jump!
We headed over to our neighborhood Neiman’s bright and early at 8 am on Saturday morning. When we arrived, the staff had set out hot coffee, Mexican hot chocolate, and chocolate chip cookies and we received our special wristbands to enter the store early, as they normally open at 10 am. We found out later that there had been a large group of ladies who had stayed overnight in a luxury RV in order to be first in line!
After we got our snacks, we were escorted to a back entrance into the store, directly to the collection. Even though there was a lot of people shopping, there was plenty of merchandise to select from, although when we got there, the Judith Leiber compacts had already sold out.
In the end, I ended up purchasing the sequined Tracy Reese top and the gunmetal leather Marc Jacobs pouch. I really liked the Oscar De La Renta purse and the Brian Atwood leather gloves, but I had to limit myself to a couple of things. The prices were lower than typical NM goods, but still high for Target. My mom purchased the Thom Browne blazer, the Carolina Herrera pouches and the Tracy Reese top, too. She also picked up the Skaist-Taylor fur hat for my sister.
After we checked out, we met up with my mom’s friends at the NM Mariposa cafe for a mimosa breakfast. I had the vanilla bean French toast, which was so good!
We ended up checking out Target to see what they had, which was basically the same stuff (they were also sold out of the Judith Leiber compacts!).
All in all, it was a fun morning and such an awesome collaboration! Not everything was great (namely, the Derek Lam slippers were hard and uncomfortable), but it was fun to pick up some real designer goods at a great price and Neiman’s made it such a memorable and luxe experience!
Great read! Was the fur hat large enough for adult size or was it mainly for a younger girl?
Thanks! It said it’s a kids hat, but I tried it on and it’s big enough for an adult. I have a pretty big head and it fit perfect. Also, my sister is 15 years old, it’ll fit her fine too.
